Kids karting in Dubai: where to go, from what age, and how to start
Where children
start karting in Dubai.
Dubai has more karting for children than almost any city: rental circuits from age seven, real Bambino race karts from five, and coached first drives from four. This guide says which is which, what each one costs, and how to start a child properly — whether you want one good afternoon or the first step of a racing driver.

The short answer
Three kinds of karting. Three ages.
Most of the confusion about kids' karting in Dubai is three different things sharing one word. The age rules below are the venues' own, as published in October 2026 — check before you go, because they change.
Where to go
Where children can go karting in Dubai.
The venues, their age and height rules as they publish them, and what each is for. Ignite is not a venue: we coach at the circuits below and race on the UAE championship calendar.
- Dubai Kartdrome · Motor City
- Two circuits. Indoor, 620 m, up to ten karts on track: arrive-and-drive sessions of fifteen minutes for ages 7 and up with a minimum height of 1.25 m — the one built for younger drivers. Outdoor, 1.2 km, FIA-sanctioned, with a tunnel and a bridge: ages 13 and up. Under-18s need a parent or guardian to sign at registration; there is a small annual registration fee; arrive an hour before your booking. The circuit's own ten-week Karting Academy takes 7 to 16. It is also where the UAE Bambino championships race and Ignite's home circuit — Bambino drivers are admitted from five.
- Chaos Karts
- Indoor karting through projected game worlds — karting and video game in one. No minimum age; drivers must reach the pedals, which means at least 1.30 m tall, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Entertainment, and good at it; not coaching.
- BattleKart Dubai
- Augmented-reality karting with games projected onto the track. No minimum age but a minimum height of about 1.45 m (4 ft 9 in), so in practice from around twelve. Also entertainment.
- Beyond Dubai
- The circuits of the UAE championship calendar — Al Forsan International and Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, RAK Track in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah Kart Track — are where Bambino, Mini, Junior and Senior drivers race through the season. Ignite coaches and races at all of them.

Rental or racing?
Rental shows if they like it. Racing teaches them to drive.
A rental kart is built to be driven by anyone for fifteen minutes: heavy, governed, forgiving, and the same for a seven-year-old as for her father. It is a brilliant afternoon, and the honest way to find out whether a child enjoys the feeling at all.
A Bambino race kart is a different machine: light, fitted to the child, with a restricted engine made for the age, driven in proper protective equipment with a coach at the side of the track. It is where steering, braking, lines and awareness are learnt correctly — habits that are far easier to build than to unlearn.
The order most families take is the sensible one: a rental session or a First Drive to see if the interest is real, then Bambino sessions if it is.
A first session with a coach
What a four-year-old's first drive looks like.
Every Ignite First Drive follows the same three steps, so parents know what will happen and children are never surprised. Nothing to buy, nothing to bring, one coach to one child.
- 01
Meet the kart
Steering, pedals, seat and safety equipment, explained while the kart is stationary. No engine yet.
- 02
Learn to stop
Throttle, brake and steering in a four-year-old's language — and stopping, before anything else.
- 03
First laps
A controlled run at walking pace, building up only as far as the child's confidence allows — then honest feedback for the parents.
What parents don't need
- A kart
- Racing experience
- A helmet or suit — we fit everything
- Tools or a mechanic
- Any knowledge of motorsport
- Kart
- An age-appropriate Bambino-class kart with a restricted engine and a seat fitted to the child.
- Where
- At UAE circuits and facilities whose rules and equipment permit the child's age. We confirm the venue when you book.
- Supervision
- One coach dedicated to the child for the whole session, plus a track briefing for parents.
- Afterwards
- Feedback, a couple of photographs, and a recommendation: Bambino sessions, the Academy Rookie tier, or simply come back when they're older.
What it costs
Two kinds of price.
Rental venues charge per session and publish the price on their own sites — fifteen minutes, a children's rate, party packages, and at the Kartdrome a small annual registration fee. Budget the session, not the equipment: it is all provided.
Entry-level programmes — First Drive, Bambino sessions, Academy blocks, 1:1 coaching and camps — are packaged and quoted on request: ask and you get the price, not a sales call. Race programmes are quoted individually because they depend on the championship, the kart and the level of support.
- A rental session
- Priced per session by the venue, children's rate, equipment included. Check the venue's page for today's price.
- A First Drive
- One coached experience, all equipment included, quoted on request — the price, not a sales call.
- Bambino sessions
- Per session or in blocks, on an Ignite kart; a programme is quoted with everything it includes written down.
- A race season
- Kart (team hire or your own), engine and maintenance, tyres and fuel, entries, mechanic and coach, transport and storage — itemised, never a single number.

Safety
Fast should never mean careless.
Karting is a well-regulated sport with equipment and rules designed for children. At Ignite the youngest drivers use karts with restricted engines, wear approved protective equipment — a children's karting helmet, suit, gloves, boots and a rib protector — and are never on track without a coach present and a briefing beforehand.
The bigger safety factor is how a child is introduced. A First Drive is a controlled experience at very low speed, built up in small steps; no child is asked to drive faster than their confidence allows, and progression is set by ability, not by age or by what another child is doing.

Questions parents ask
The honest answers.
More in the Parents' Paddock, where every question a new karting parent asks is answered.
Can a 4-year-old go karting in Dubai?
Not at a rental counter: Dubai Kartdrome's indoor circuit takes children from seven with a minimum height of 1.25 m, and the augmented-reality venues set minimum heights of 1.30 m and about 1.45 m. A four-year-old can drive with a coach, in a Bambino-class kart with a restricted engine, at walking pace — that is what Ignite's First Drive is. It runs only at UAE venues whose rules and equipment permit the child's age, which we confirm when you book.
What is the youngest age for karting in Dubai?
It depends on the kind of karting. Rental karting at Dubai Kartdrome starts at seven on the indoor circuit and thirteen on the outdoor circuit; Chaos Karts and BattleKart have no minimum age but minimum heights of 1.30 m and about 1.45 m. Bambino racing — real race karts, coached — starts at five at Dubai Kartdrome. A coached First Drive is available from four.
There is no advantage in rushing: a child who starts at six with good fundamentals will out-develop one who was pushed into racing at five.
How much does kids' karting cost in Dubai?
Rental circuits publish their session prices online and charge per session — typically fifteen minutes — with children's rates, party packages and, at the Kartdrome, a small annual registration fee. Check the venue's own page before you go; prices change.
For coached karting: Entry-level programmes — First Drive, Bambino sessions, Academy blocks, 1:1 coaching and camps — are packaged and quoted on request: ask and you get the price, not a sales call. Race programmes are quoted individually because they depend on the championship, the kart and the level of support. A race season's cost depends on the championship, the number of rounds, whether the driver uses a team kart or their own, and the level of engineering support — ask and you get a clear breakdown, not a single mysterious number.
Indoor or outdoor karting for a child?
For a first taste, Dubai Kartdrome's indoor circuit is the one built for younger drivers — 620 m, up to ten karts on track, from age seven. The outdoor 1.2 km international circuit is for thirteen and up. Bambino racing and Ignite's coaching run outdoors, on the circuits where the UAE championships are held, in karts and with equipment made for the age.
Is a rental kart the same as a racing kart?
No. A rental kart is built to be driven by anyone for fifteen minutes: heavy, governed and forgiving. A Bambino race kart is light, fitted to the child, and driven with proper protective equipment and a coach. Rental karting tells you whether your child enjoys it; racing karting is where they learn to drive. Our article on rental versus racing karting explains the difference in full.
Does my child need their own kart?
No — not to start, and not for some time. First Drive, Bambino sessions and Academy programmes all run on Ignite karts. When a driver is racing regularly, owning a kart usually becomes the sensible option, and Ignite will advise on specification, sourcing and timing rather than selling you something on day one.
Is karting safe for young children?
Karting is a well-regulated sport with equipment and rules designed specifically for children. At Ignite the youngest drivers use age-appropriate karts with restricted engines, wear approved protective equipment (a children's karting helmet, suit, gloves, boots and a rib protector), and are never on track without a coach present and a briefing beforehand.
The bigger safety factor is how a child is introduced. A First Drive is a controlled experience at very low speed, built up in small steps, and no child is asked to drive faster than their confidence allows. Progression is set by ability, not by age or by what another child is doing.
What equipment do we need?
For a First Drive or a first block of sessions: nothing. Ignite provides the kart, helmet and protective equipment. Once a child is attending regularly, a properly fitted helmet of their own is the first purchase we recommend, followed by a suit, gloves, boots and a rib protector. We will tell you exactly what to buy and what not to bother with.
