Ignite Schools

Karting programmes for schools

Motorsport is a
classroom at 60 km/h.

Karting teaches physics, engineering, data, reaction, fitness, decision-making and teamwork — and children do not notice they are being taught. Ignite Schools brings that to pupils, and brings talented pupils to Ignite.

Three formats

Taster. Enrichment. Club.

  1. 01

    Taster day

A year group or club visits the circuit: briefing, a first drive for every pupil in age-appropriate karts, a look at the data, a look under the engine cover.

  2. 02

    Enrichment programme

A six or ten-week block combining track sessions with classroom modules on physics, engineering, data and decision-making.

  3. 03

    Ignite Karting Club

An after-school club run with the school: regular sessions, the Development Score for every pupil, and a club championship at the end of term.

What pupils learn

The syllabus, disguised as a race.

  • Karting
  • Engineering
  • Physics
  • Data
  • Reaction times
  • Fitness
  • Decision-making
  • Teamwork

Every session pairs a track element with a classroom element: friction and tyres, gearing and acceleration, reading a speed trace, planning a race.

The children who are obsessed with cars are already in your classrooms. Ignite gives them somewhere to put it.
